Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.**Job Responsibilities:** Plan, manage, control, and supervise welding activities, ensuring products meet appropriate quality levels per applicable construction codes, international standards, and/or customer specifications; additionally responsible for developing, updating, implementing, and monitoring parameterization and documentation to identify and resolve quality issues, as well as promoting continuous improvement of Magna Estampados’ welding processes with support from welding specialists, engineers, and technicians. Lead teams to follow activities defined in the MSGS (Welding Manual), primarily supported by certified inspectors to ensure compliance with established standard procedures for welding-related activities. **DECISIONS AND AUTHORITY SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:** * Has the responsibility and authority to halt production processes, any unsafe activity or condition, and is obligated to immediately report such to management to prevent accidents or negative impacts on the company. * Continuously validate safe and high-quality production, and foster a continuous improvement environment to meet and/or exceed customer expectations with impact on SQTCM (Safety, Quality, Time, Cost, Morale). * Establish strategies to increase product quality percentages. * Apply disciplinary procedures jointly with the HR department when warranted. * Request action plans from various departments to comply with the MSGS (Welding Manual). * Qualify welding procedures and welders/operators provided they meet requirements defined in the MSGS. * Halt activities performed by personnel not qualified for the operation. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND/OR ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS Completed Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field with CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification or higher. 2 years in an equivalent position or 3 years as a certified Welding Inspector (valid). * Proficiency in welding codes, standards, and specifications. * Knowledge of laboratory equipment for testing. * Personnel or team management and administration experience. * Support across various Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering areas to resolve related issues. * Participation in specialized training for plant personnel. * Attendance and participation at inter-company or customer/supplier locations, representing Autotek Plant (domestic and/or international). * Management and leadership of multidisciplinary teams to achieve objectives.
