Ensure smooth communication for the success of new projects Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Director, Development to join our team at WHG Mexico in Ciudad de Mexico, N/A. **Purpose** ------------- The Development Director, as leader of their team, will be responsible for directing and coordinating efforts to expand WHR brands in Mexico. Under their leadership, the team will identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close new partnerships through franchise agreements or management contracts. These agreements may include individual contracts, multi-property agreements, or Non-Exclusive Development Agreements (NEDAs). The Director will foster effective collaboration and ensure that team objectives align with the company’s strategic expansion goals. The Development Director is accountable for room count growth—a key success factor for the company in the region—alongside EBITDA growth. **Key Functions and Responsibilities** --------------------------------------------- * Lead the team in identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and closing individual franchise agreements, management contracts, and multi-unit agreements in priority markets, ensuring team strategies and efforts align with WHR’s growth objectives. Support team negotiations in client meetings. * Foster and coordinate teamwork to establish and maintain a strong network of contacts with potential owners, franchisees, partners, and investors to generate future project opportunities aligned with WHR’s regional and brand strategy. * Guide the team in building awareness within the hotel development community regarding WHR brands and their strategic value. Participate alongside the team in industry conferences and events to communicate and represent the organization’s development strategy. * Oversee maintenance of a development process framework, ensuring the team conducts feasibility studies, inspections, and brand specification compliance efficiently and in alignment with WHR standards. * Facilitate smooth interdepartmental communication, promoting cross-departmental collaboration to ensure success throughout the development and opening process of new projects. **Education and Experience** --------------------------- * Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. * Hospitality industry professional with direct experience in hotel real estate and a proven track record across all phases of the development process—from project identification and evaluation through negotiation and contract closing. * Significant experience in new business development and hotel real estate, including closing franchise and management contracts for a hotel chain over the past 5–10 years. * A strong network of contacts with investors, consultants, brokers, advisors, and financiers who contribute to realizing growth opportunities. **COMPANY OVERVIEW:** Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is the world’s largest hotel franchising company by the number of properties with approximately 9,200 hotels across over 95 countries on six continents.
