**Job Description** **General Objective:** Responsible for analyzing, anticipating, and mitigating potential scenarios of cost increases; implementing high-value monetary savings projects; identifying new domestic suppliers; and renewing the supplier roster for all indirect materials and external services required by Medline Industries, Inc. **Responsibilities:** * Negotiate pricing with MRO service and material suppliers * Review and resolve supplier service issues * Negotiate contracts and track their expiration dates * Identify cost-savings project opportunities * Negotiate with internal customers to enable intelligent spending * Monitor daily purchase requisitions from various departments * Conduct comparative cost analyses * Process and issue purchase orders upon approval from the plant director and procurement manager * Track purchase orders and their merchandise delivery dates * Request supplier resolution for discrepancies in pricing, quantity, and/or unperformed services * Maintain internal quarterly tracking of annual purchase orders placed with each supplier to monitor incurred expenses * Monthly savings reporting * Monthly reporting on prevention of cost increases * Monthly monitoring of progress toward achieving annual savings targets * Implementation of group-wide total savings of $1 million annually **Professional Profile** **Experience / Technical Knowledge:** * Minimum 7 years of experience as a buyer * Prior experience across the entire supply chain is desirable * Prior experience purchasing production materials (raw materials) is desirable * Knowledge of inventory control systems (AS400, SAP) **Competencies / Soft Skills:** * Natural leader; unafraid to lead and/or correct peers * Experience working in cross-functional teams * Analytical mindset with ability to anticipate pricing impacts * Proactive, committed, and responsible * Written, spoken, and comprehension proficiency in English (50%) * Excel proficiency * PowerPoint presentation skills **Academic Qualifications:** * Completed engineering degree or bachelor’s degree Medline Industries, LP is an equal opportunity employer.
