JOB SUMMARY The Engineering team is responsible for providing the most accurate and complete engineering data for customer orders (e.g., bills of materials, manufacturing process data and capabilities, and overall alignment with Flowserve standards and customer-specified requirements). The Junior Project Engineer is expected to ensure orders are understood, analyzed, scheduled, and released to Flowserve’s manufacturing process in the best possible and most efficient manner. Order engineers provide logistical, technical, and operational support to local facilities, customers, and warranty service, and collaborate closely with other company facilities worldwide. RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead, control, and assume responsibility for engineering activities. * Prepare and review engineering data. * Perform engineering studies and related calculations. * Coordinate cross-functional activities with other Flowserve departments. * Collaborate with Business Unit and GTEC engineers to improve customer satisfaction and employee engagement. * Maintain close collaboration with the project team. REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology. * More than three years of related experience. * Strong knowledge and use of CAD software, with emphasis on creating 3D models from 2D drawings. * Demonstrated entrepreneurial attitude, with ability to drive work to results and completion. * Academic knowledge of mechanical design principles, including fluid flow, mechanics of materials, drafting, and machining practices. * Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite. * Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, advanced organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and guide multiple tasks simultaneously, even when conflicting priorities exist. * Demonstrated analytical ability to evaluate form, fit, and function of machinery in areas such as strength and thermal loading, specification and approval of bolts, gaskets, and bearings, and recommendation supported by analysis of test data and instrumentation results. * Intermediate–Advanced spoken and written English. * Communicate professionally and with accepted business etiquette. * Collaborative interpersonal skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Demonstrated practical knowledge of mechanical design principles, including fluid flow, mechanics of materials, drafting, and machining practices. * Demonstrated experience in developing detailed production drawings and manufacturing instructions as required for customer components and “engineered-to-order” products. * Basic knowledge of machining and quality principles, such as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), measurement techniques, and various manual and CNC metal-cutting processes. * Lean certification or 2 years in Lean-related activities. * Knowledge of industry standards, such as HI/API/Nuclear/ASTM/ASME. * Prior experience in structural and dynamic rotor analysis, FEA, PPAP, FMEA, and drawing interpretation.
