Job Summary: The Customs Assistant provides direct support to the Coordinator/Supervisor to ensure compliance with Mexican customs regulations regarding temporary inventory and import/export activities. Additionally, it must comply with foreign trade promotion programs including IMMEX, PROSEC, Importers Registry, Specific Importers Registry, and Sectoral Exporters Registry. * Responsible for maintaining, updating, and managing official documents related to various certifications and foreign trade obligations. * Effectively manage monthly inventory reconciliations related to Annex 24/30 and customs system administration. * Responsible for timely tracking of import/export shipments. * Ensure timely delivery of corresponding materials and products. * Must monitor shipment status using technological tools and consistently communicate shipment progress effectively and efficiently. * Must be capable of meeting goals, objectives, and initiatives set by the Customs Supervisor and/or Coordinator in a timely manner. * Propose action plans for process improvement. * Identify potential issues before authorities detect them, thereby reducing business impact. * Comply with procedures, work instructions, and workplace regulations of various management systems (e.g., CTPAT, AEO, and those registered by the company), in accordance with established manuals, and ensure compliance with legal records, quality, environmental, health and safety regulations, AEO, CTPAT, etc., applicable within the company. **Required Competencies**: * Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Trade, International Logistics, or related fields. * Minimum 2 years of experience in the field. * Strategic planning related to import/export operations. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Basic knowledge of the Códice system. * Negotiation skills. * Ability to communicate customs operation progress to both internal and external clients. * Advanced knowledge of free trade agreements signed with Mexico. * Decision-making ability. **Preferred Competencies**: * Effective communication skills. * Ability to develop organizational capacity. * Continuous process improvement. * Leadership skills. * Collaboration across various departments. * Results-oriented mindset. * Decision-making and problem-solving abilities. * Seeks and promotes positive change for the organization. * Pursues personal development. * Interpersonal skills (supplier and customer relations). **Position Competencies**: * Digital mindset. * Customer focus. * Vision and values. * Teamwork. * Adaptability and flexibility. * Creativity / Innovation. * Accountability. * Transparency. * Efficiency. **Basic Competencies** * Degree in International Trade. * 2 years of experience in the field. * English (Preferred). * Basic knowledge of the Mexican customs framework. * Effective communication.
