ALTEN Mexico is a subsidiary of ALTEN Group. ALTEN Group has been a leader in engineering and information technologies for over 30 years and operates in 30 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, employing more than 46,000 people, 88% of whom are engineers. We are looking for a validation engineer specialized in acting as a technical detective. Your primary mission is to thoroughly investigate failures occurring during testing on the HIL bench, identify their exact origin, and generate detailed, actionable technical reports for development teams. How do you do it? You use diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer and ETAS INCA to reproduce failures, analyze CAN/LIN network data, and trace system behavior. You link each identified failure to the original engineering requirements using tools like IBM RTC or DOORS. Your meticulous root cause analysis work enables software and systems engineers to efficiently correct issues, ensuring product quality from the earliest stages of development. Why is it crucial? Because you transform raw failed test data into valuable information. Without this role, development teams would receive only a "test failed" message without the necessary context to resolve it, delaying projects and increasing costs. You are the cornerstone for ensuring the reliability of vehicle electronic systems. **Key Responsibilities:** **1\. Execute and Monitor Tests:** * Execute automated and manual test suites on HIL benches according to the validation plan. * Monitor real-time behavior of the system under test using tools such as ControlDesk and CANalyzer. **2\. Investigate and Diagnose Failures:** * Perform root cause analysis for each detected failure. * Determine whether the issue lies in the ECU software, requirements, simulation model, or test bench environment. **3\. Generate Detailed Technical Reports:** * Write clear and accurate failure reports in tools such as IBM RTC or Jira. * Include in the report: steps to reproduce, logs, screenshots, CAN data, and system impact. **4\. Perform Failure Traceability:** * Link each reported failure to the specific engineering requirement or test case that was not met. **5\. Support Development Teams:** * Collaborate directly with software and systems engineers by providing technical evidence and reproducing complex scenarios to help resolve issues. **6\. Basic Test Environment Maintenance:** * Verify the integrity of simulation models and HIL bench configuration prior to test executions. **Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. * 5 to 8 years of experience. * Programming for Automation (Python, CAPL, VBA): Basic\-Intermediate level (1\-3 years). * Example: Python scripts for processing data logs, VBA macros to automate Excel reports, CAPL scripts in CANalyzer to simulate ECU nodes. * Agile Methodologies (Scrum): Basic level (0\-2 years). * Example: Active participation in Scrum ceremonies (daily stand\-ups, sprint planning), understanding of Kanban board workflows. * Simulink/Modeling for HIL: Basic level (0\-2 years). * Example: Basic understanding of plant models in Simulink for HIL environments, ability to make simple parameter modifications. * Knowledge of Specific Vehicle Systems (Powertrain, Chassis, Body): Intermediate level (2\-5 years). * Example: In-depth knowledge of how modules in a hybrid powertrain system interact for faster and more accurate diagnostics. * Version Control Tools (SVN, Git): Basic level (0\-2 years). * Example: Use for managing versions of test scripts, models, and documentation. * Intermediate \- Advanced (Fluent Conversational) **Benefits:** * Competitive salary * Benefits exceeding legal requirements * Professional growth and development plan * Remote work arrangement
