**Role Summary:** The Cash Application Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial transactions related to cash and banking activities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. **Responsibilities:** * Own and drive resolution of unapplied cash and notification of information in the respective region. * Proactively identify and correct cash application issues. * Provide operational support and guidance to team members; serve as the first escalation point. * Responsible for resolving complex inquiries within the respective region. * Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of daily cash reporting. * Interact with and manage stakeholders; train and mentor new and existing team members. * Timely and accurate application of cash to third-party and intercompany customer accounts, in accordance with established accounts receivable processes and procedures. * Contact customers regarding payment-related inquiries via email and telephone. * Maintain documentation per internal control and SOX audit requirements, as applicable. * Prepare and ensure timely completion of month-end close reports. * Prepare calculations and accruals of third-party commissions, as applicable. * Create and maintain Desktop Procedures. * Manage user access requests for the Blackline superuser team for one’s own area. * Actively participate in transitions, projects, process improvement initiatives, and audits. * Ensure compliance with Flowserve policies, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as defined by Flowserve, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and local laws and regulations, and that business operations adhere to Flowserve’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct. **Requirements:** * 3–5 years of relevant experience. * Experience managing bank reconciliations and cash allocation. * Experience managing customer future payments. * Background in Economics/Finance; high school diploma or bachelor’s degree is preferred. * Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and any other language (as required for the role). * Ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. * Intermediate user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Knowledge and experience using ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP). * Strong analytical skills in research and problem-solving, with high attention to detail. * Supportive attitude and strong interpersonal skillset; fosters and drives change. **Preferred:** * Continuous improvement mindset (LEAN Six Sigma is a plus).
