**POSITION SUMMARY** The ***Mechanical Engineer*** supports new product development for the company’s Thermal global products. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the physical design and/or thermal system design of new products. This engineer must be a practical hands\-on type of engineer who can start with an abstract concept and see it through to product launch. **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge. * Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOM’s based on options selected by the customer. * Works with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all of their needs. * Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise. * Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product. * Understands the products, suggest ideas and improvements. * Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re\-occurring field issues. * Coordinate performance testing in the lab. * Analyze test data, diagnose issues and determine changes to improve performance. * Thermal system modeling to determine performance and correct part selection. * Determine controls routines needed to make system operate optimally and to meet customer requirements. **QUALIFICATIONS** * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. * Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products and safety. * Basic mechanical CAD tools experience\- Solid Edge, Creo, Solid Works. * Experience with Sheetmetal, piping and assemblies is a plus. * Data\-entry systems familiarity \- Oracle, Agile, etc. * Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically. * Detail oriented. * Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. * Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams. **PHYSICAL \& ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS** * Must be able to work in the lab or production facility to diagnose and solve problems. **TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED** * Regular travel between Office/Lab and the production factory (both in Monterrey) and minimal travel (\<5%) to customer sites. \#LI\-LL1
