The Mgr Electrical Engineering – Product Support will lead an agile team to provide Electrical Engineering support to high volume production lines to ensure on\-time performance and high yield. You will apply your expert knowledge of electronic components to perform validation testing of design updates and diagnose the failure modes of PCBAs to make targeted design updates. You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:* Lead a small to medium size team of engineers in the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics for a variety of projects while complying to applicable regulatory standards. * Perform analysis of alternate electronic components to maintain supply chain stability. * Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations to diagnose issues encountered during high\-volume PCBA production. * Review drawing releases and Engineering Change Notices. * Create new power tool circuit designs using schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and knowledge of industry best practices. * Establish and execute test regimens for components and assemblies within scope of the project and organization. * Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e\-loads, and data acquisition systems. * Mentor and coach the team in engineering best practices including task management, Gantt charts, root cause analysis, circuit / PCB design, and PCBA manufacturing. * Champion technology investigations including system requirements, architecture definitions, and reusability strategies. * Establish and maintain a strong awareness and database of competitive offerings, product strategies, and business climate to shape a best\-in\-class roadmap. * Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame\-up and escalate business risks/opportunities to senior leadership. * Effectively communicate and motivate up, down and across the organization to a diverse range of technical and non\-technical team members. * Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs. * Ensure the team is given the time and resources required to succeed by creating and managing robust project roadmaps and resource plans with converged project scope. * Develop plans to evaluate and assess the emerging technology market space to fit/compliment Milwaukee Tool product initiatives and development. What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. * 7\+ years of relevant experience to include at least 2 years of experience with product design of electronics. * 3\+ years of leadership experience * Experience with microcontroller circuits, embedded firmware, statistical analysis methods, automated test fixture development, root cause analysis, and PCB assembly techniques. * Very strong familiarity with PCBA manufacturing processes and standards. * Self\-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic. * Excellent problem\-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment. Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:* Experience with portable electronics, power tools, motor controls, power electronics and power supply circuits, consumer electronics, or instrumentation and measurement systems. * Leadership and mentoring experience.
