JOB PURPOSE: Ensure the company procures necessary products, materials, or services at optimal cost, quality, and timing, complying with legal and regulatory import procedures to guarantee efficient company operations. REQUIREMENTS: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Trade, or Customs (in progress or completed). • Experience: 1–2 years in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding firm. (Candidates with strong learning attitude and solid foundational knowledge are also considered.) • Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Excel required: pivot tables and formulas). • Language: Basic/Technical English (document reading). KNOWLEDGE: • Customs Law, Foreign Trade Law, and NOM certifications. • Documentation handling: Bill of Lading (BL), Packing List, Invoices, and Certificates. • Commodity classification and tariff classifications. • Non-tariff regulations and restrictions. • Tax calculation and Incoterms. • Domestic and international logistics (road and maritime). • Preferred: Experience importing electronics or machinery. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Shipment Tracking: Monitor maritime and land routes, verify arrival and customs clearance dates, and coordinate domestic transportation. • Customs Management: Review and annotate customs declarations to ensure legal compliance. • Logistics Coordination: Manage custody arrangements, risk control, and delivery to warehouses/CEDIS. • Financial Management: Calculate and process payments for foreign trade transactions and suppliers; analyze import costs including taxes, tariffs, freight, storage, and customs services. • Reporting: Maintain databases and generate monthly movement reports. • Support internal audits.
