Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates cleaning and maintenance activities for the Plant and exterior areas, including buildings and equipment, and provides service to personnel regarding their improvement needs. Leads and trains a team of qualified technicians. *FACILITIES ENGINEER* **JOB SUMMARY:** * Supervises and coordinates all cleaning activities for the Plant \& exterior areas; maintains buildings in good condition; coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for building equipment, including but not limited to: electrical substation, air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, fire suppression systems, plant hydraulic systems, drainage systems, natural gas, etc. * Provides service to all personnel regarding their improvement and maintenance needs for facilities, including: locksmithing, fumigation, painting, cleaning, etc. * Collaborates with Security personnel to safeguard personnel, buildings, and their contents. * Supervises contractors both in daily activities and projects. **CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Supervises and coordinates common building areas; includes restrooms, cafeteria, gardens, lighting, locksmithing, minor repairs such as plastering and painting. * Conducts periodic walkthroughs of buildings and exterior areas to identify requirements within those areas. * Installs, modifies, and/or removes electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems inside the building as required. * Plans, budgets, and schedules maintenance for building equipment, including: electrical substation, air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, fire suppression systems. * Responsible for preventive maintenance of building equipment; includes repairs and installation of new building equipment. * Supervises building cleaning and maintenance. * Maintains all records for preventive \& predictive maintenance of building equipment. * Selects, trains, develops, and coaches a team of qualified and motivated technicians, fosters a positive work environment, and ensures optimal utilization of personnel within a team-oriented setting. * Works closely with contractors during major building modifications. * Sets priorities, develops forecasts, and allocates resources to fulfill preventive and corrective maintenance of building equipment and facilities. * Participates in project supervision alongside the Facilities Manager. * Any other duties assigned. **WORKING CONDITIONS** * Location: Plant in Mexicali, Baja California * Primary duties are performed in a standard office/cubicle environment with computer, telephone, etc. However, supervision extends to interior and exterior building areas, manufacturing areas, courtyards, parking lots, gardens, and building rooftops. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions such as heat, rain, or cold may occur. * Occasional overtime work in evenings or weekends may be required. * Travel requirements are minimal and primarily local. **SKILLS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS:** * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to interact effectively with all employees. * Strong service-oriented attitude. * Good organizational skills. * Ability to negotiate with contractors regarding costs and scope of work. * Ability to analyze, prioritize, reschedule tasks, and improve processes as needed. * Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SAP \& AutoCAD are a plus. * Ability to read blueprints. * Basic knowledge in at least one construction-related field: electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning. * Skills to diagnose failures or identify problems. * Good physical health. **EXPERIENCE:** **Minimum:** * 2\-5 years of administrative experience related to Maintenance. **Preferred:** * 2\-5 years of experience in Facilities and/or Building operations. **EDUCATION:** Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, or equivalent. **Preferred:** Engineering degree as listed above, with experience in this position.
