Description

Job Summary: ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Mid-Level Subsystem Test Automation Engineer to ensure software quality in automotive environments, combining programming, analysis, and deep debugging. Key Highlights: 1. Design, development, and execution of automated and manual tests. 2. Development and maintenance of Python automation code. 3. Active collaboration with development teams using agile methodologies. ALTEN Mexico is a leading engineering company delivering innovative and efficient technology and product development solutions. Our team comprises over 700 professionals committed to serving diverse industries, including automotive, energy, aerospace, banking and insurance, telecommunications and multimedia, and rail. At ALTEN Mexico, we value talent and are looking for a Mid-Level Subsystem Test Automation Engineer to join our team. As a Mid-Level Subsystem Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality and integrity through the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated and manual tests. This role combines programming, analysis, deep debugging, and technical documentation work within complex validation environments. **Responsibilities:** * Design, develop, and implement automated and manual test cases to validate the stability and functionality of subsystems and ADAS, primarily on Android Automotive platforms for infotainment systems. * Analyze functional requirements, technical documentation, and system architecture to define comprehensive test plans, considering integration, regression, stress, and edge-case scenarios in automotive environments. * Execute tests across various test environments—including simulation, SIL, and HIL—validating software behavior, system stability, and correct hardware interaction. * Develop and maintain Python automation code, applying Object-Oriented Programming principles, quality standards, and maintainability practices for test frameworks. * Integrate and operate HIL test benches, controlling laboratory hardware (power supplies, relays, input/output signals) via scripts to support ADAS automated testing. * Perform ADAS validation testing using industry-standard tools such as IPG CarMaker or dSPACE, ensuring compliance with defined test scenarios. * Conduct analysis, debugging, and triage of defects, identifying root causes (software, environment, automation, or hardware) and documenting findings clearly and systematically. * Refactor and optimize automated test scripts, libraries, and suites to improve efficiency, robustness, and compatibility with system changes. * Validate software fixes through targeted testing and regression runs, analyzing test impact and coverage for each delivery. * Manage test framework versions, dependencies, and configurations using version control systems, ensuring reproducibility and scalability of test environments. * Document test results, evidence, and reports—including stability and defect metrics—using collaborative tracking tools. * Actively collaborate with development, validation, architecture, and product management teams within agile methodologies, contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and product quality. **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree and professional license in Computer Science Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Systems Engineering, or related field. * Strong Python programming skills, with deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming for developing, debugging, and optimizing scripts (mandatory). * Experience working with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test benches and controlling laboratory hardware (power supplies, relays) via code. * Ability to analyze, document, and report software defects. * Capability to execute, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites within established frameworks. * Solid understanding of agile methodologies and best practices in SDLC/STLC. * Proactive mindset to identify and implement improvements in automated testing processes. * Ability to assess regression scope and scale test environments to meet project demands. * More than 3 years of experience managing test environments to support rigorous test schedules. * Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing with programming. * Demonstrated experience with the Android operating system and associated automation tools is considered a significant advantage. * Practical experience in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) testing using industry-standard solutions such as IPG CarMaker or dSPACE is considered a significant advantage. * Experience with Selenium or Appium is considered a significant advantage. **We Offer:** * Base salary * Major Medical Expense Insurance (including dental and vision plans) * 15 days of year-end bonus * 25% vacation premium * 12 vacation days (starting from the first year) * Biweekly food vouchers Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $29,000.00 \- $33,000.00 per month Work Location: On-site
