Oversee general operations across all store areas, serving as a role model for the team.
Provide necessary direction and feedback to direct reports to coordinate proper execution of store operational processes, foster an optimal work environment, and deliver excellent service to our customers.
* Authorize damaged and non-damaged returns resulting from defective merchandise, incorrect employee recommendations, or catalog errors—always placing the customer first and ensuring their full satisfaction.
* Ensure all parts and products are located in their assigned positions within the store and that physical inventory matches system records by flawlessly executing weekly inventory maintenance tasks.
* Supervise store operational activities as a role model and ensure employees provide expert customer guidance while utilizing all available tools—including the electronic catalog and diagnostic and testing equipment provided by AutoZone—to deliver reliable advice and genuine solutions to our customers’ needs, thereby also helping prevent merchandise returns through this practice.
* Identify subordinates’ strengths and areas for improvement to assign appropriate tasks, recognize strong performance, and provide constructive feedback when opportunities for improvement and training arise.
* Supervise daily adherence by all employees to scheduled work hours and AutoZone’s dress code; ensure respectful, courteous, and professional interactions among team members and with our customers—fully applying AutoZone’s guidelines and values.
* Review and analyze the Profit & Loss (P\&L) report each period to identify opportunities for expense control and contribute to improvements by promoting a culture of cost-consciousness across all controllable consumptions within the team.
* Assign and track tasks for area supervisors—including planogram setup, merchandise placement, warehouse cleaning, restroom and cafeteria maintenance, sales floor and parking lot upkeep—as well as review daily cash counts for the main register, perform cash sweeps, and process register closings for direct reports following AutoZone-provided procedures.
* Supervise and ensure employees wear AutoZone-provided safety equipment—including belts, gloves, aprons, and goggles—when handling merchandise, conducting vehicle tests, or operating in-store test stations, thus helping prevent workplace accidents and guaranteeing a safe environment for our employees.
* High school diploma
* One to two years of experience as a supervisor in retail, warehouse, or store environments
* Flexible availability for work schedule
