Program, set up, and operate CNC and CMM machines to safely produce prototypes for personnel and equipment; meeting customer-specified quality, cost, and delivery timelines while maintaining DOL in the area. Impact of this role and key deliverables 1. Intermediate-level ability to read and interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5 2. Intermediate-level definition of part manufacturing processes; identify machining sequences according to GD&T 3. Advanced knowledge of: tool types, cutting parameters, and toolholder types; releasing tools vs. 2D, interpreting tool and product offsets per 2D, mastery of machine tooling operations 4. Intermediate concepts and basic design of machining fixtures, leak testing and assembly, basic use of NXCAD to verify dimensions; identifying fabrication material based on functional application requirements 5. Manufacturing on GROB 5-axis simultaneous CNC, DMG MORI lathes, conventional milling machines, any fixture/component, assembling and releasing machining fixtures per 2D 6. Aligning origins of: machine, fixture, part, and 2D; intermediate knowledge of machine geometry evaluation 7. Per 2D, mastery of programming on Siemens 840Dsi controller, Cycle 800, and 100% of machining features; performing necessary trial runs for process adjustment until release on Grob and/or DMG MORI lathe; mastering safety rules, equipment operation, and maintenance 8. Interpreting CMM reports to adjust and release machined parts vs. 2D; loading parts onto CMM and profilometer to run measurement programs; performing analysis of averages, maximum/minimum ranges to determine dimensional adjustments in machining; using analog and digital measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, goniometers) to dimension the product 9. Mastery of: determining measurement methods, preparing control plans, reporting initial samples in Excel, controlling machining processes via averages, ranges, and max/min deviations 10. Mastery of: interpreting acceptance criteria, recording defect Pareto charts, completing production control forms, control plans, shipping controls, preparing part inventory lists, managing special test controls 11. Preparing parts and conducting hermeticity tests, component assemblies, cleaning, inspection, and packaging of parts 12. Developing and administering the environmental management system, TPM, participating in safety and hygiene talks 13. In SAP: creating maintenance orders, reserving material requests from warehouse 14.
