




**Responsibilities** * **Interpretation of drawings and designs:** Analyze technical drawings and CAD/CAM models to understand the specifications and requirements of the part to be manufactured. * **CNC programming:** Develop and write code sequences (G\-code) that will direct the CNC machine to perform machining operations. * **Selection of tools and materials:** Choose appropriate cutting tools and necessary materials for each task, considering material type, desired finish, and tolerances. * **Machine setup and optimization:** Determine cutting speeds, feeds, and tool paths, as well as assist in machine setup and calibration. * **Code verification:** Review numerical programs using specialized software to ensure there are no errors and that they function correctly. * **Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and resolve any issues arising during the machining process, such as programming errors or tool wear. * **Documentation:** Develop manufacturing process documentation, including machining parameters and setup instructions. * **Collaboration:** Communicate with machine operators to ensure programs run correctly and to address any necessary adjustments. **Education and Training** * **Education level:** Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field) ***Technical Knowledge and Skills*** * **CAM Software:** Solid knowledge of Computer\-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software is essential for creating programs and optimizing the machining process. * **Mathematics:** Strong understanding of geometry, algebra, and trigonometry is required to interpret drawings, calculate tool paths, and perform machining operations. * **CNC Software and Controls:** Familiarity with G and M codes, and knowledge of CNC control systems (such as Fanuc), is essential. * **Material knowledge:** Understanding of the properties of various materials to be machined. * **Cutting and holding tools:** Knowledge of different types of cutting tools and their mounting systems on machines. ***Personal Skills and Abilities*** * **Drawing interpretation:** Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints. * **Attention to detail:** Crucial for accuracy in programming and machining. * **Problem solving:** Ability to identify and resolve mechanical or logistical issues. * **Teamwork and independence:** Ability to work independently and also as part of a team. * **Time management and organization:** Skills to meet deadlines and organize tasks efficiently.
