Position overview: We are looking for a Junior Backend Engineer (Java) to support the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs. The role focuses on implementing business logic, working with data\-driven services, and contributing to reliable and scalable systems under the guidance of more senior engineers. This position offers strong exposure to modern backend practices, cloud environments, and collaborative agile teams. Technology stack: Java, REST and GraphQL APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging concepts including queues and pub sub, Git, cloud platforms, container based deployments, CI and CD pipelines, monitoring and logging tools * Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services that support business functionality * Build REST and GraphQL APIs with clear and consistent contracts * Implement server side logic for data ingestion and data processing * Collaborate with designers, product roles, and business experts to deliver incremental value * Write clean, maintainable, and testable code * Design and run tests including unit, integration, and contract testing * Work with delivery teams to support CI and CD processes * Deploy services in cloud environments with a focus on scalability and resilience * Monitor application performance and assist with resolving production issues * Document technical solutions and participate in knowledge sharing * Take part in Agile activities including daily standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives * Requirements: Experience developing backend applications using Java * Understanding of API design for REST or GraphQL * Basic skills working with SQL or NoSQL databases * Familiarity with asynchronous patterns including messaging, queues, and pub sub * Awareness of resilience practices such as retries, error handling, and basic recovery techniques * Experience using Git * Exposure to cloud concepts and containerized environments * Experience working in Agile teams * Fluency in Spanish and intermediate English for documentation and collaboration * Nice to have: Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka * Familiarity with CI and CD tools * Experience with monitoring or observability tools * Foundational knowledge of cloud providers including GCP, AWS, or Azure
