We are looking for an **Automotive Product Engineer / Designer** with technical thinking and aesthetic sense, capable of designing, modeling, and documenting the structures, components, and interiors of our units, contributing to the standardization and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. **Position Overview** This role plays a key part within Royal Van's technical department: you will be responsible for **designing from scratch and documenting the structures, modules, and interior components** that make up our vans, ranging from partitions and ceiling panels to consoles, seat bases, and coverings. Your primary objective will be to **create a library of standardized designs**, including technical drawings, cutting files, and material lists that enable reproduction of products with quality, precision, and consistent aesthetics. You will also participate in developing **new interior design concepts**, contributing ideas to improve functionality, ergonomics, and visual presentation of each unit. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and model structural and interior components in 2D and 3D (partitions, consoles, ceiling panels, furniture, bases, coverings, etc.). * Perform dimensional surveys on actual units and translate them into manufacturing technical drawings. * Generate detailed drawings with dimensions, materials, tolerances, and assembly sequences. * Create and maintain **material lists (BOM)** by design or unit model. * Standardize components and technical production templates. * Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Upholstery departments to validate the functionality and feasibility of each design. * Develop aesthetically balanced design proposals between comfort, ergonomics, and visual design. * Support technical documentation of processes and drawing version control. **Key Responsibilities** * Conduct dimensional measurements on base units and translate them into accurate 2D and 3D designs. * Design and model structural, interior, and aesthetic components in CAD (bases, partitions, ceiling panels, consoles, side panels, coverings, etc.). * Generate technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, and assembly sequences. * Prepare **CNC files** and complete **material lists (BOM)** for production. * Standardize templates and designs for future conversions, ensuring repeatability and version control. * Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Carpentry, Upholstery, and Electrical departments to validate technical feasibility of designs. * Develop interior design proposals that balance functionality, comfort, and aesthetics. * Assist in creating technical and visual process documentation for internal engineering archives. **Required Profile** * Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial Engineering or **Industrial Design** with a technical focus. * Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive design, technical furniture, carpentry, or metal structures. * Proficiency in **SolidWorks**, **AutoCAD**, and preferably rendering/modeling software (KeyShot, Rhino, Blender, or similar). * Knowledge of automotive materials (steel, aluminum, MDF, polymers, foams, leathers, vinyls). * Experience generating technical drawings, CNC cutting files, and manufacturing technical documentation. * Ability to work cross-functionally with various technical departments. * Aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and skill in transforming ideas into real, manufacturable designs. **Working Conditions** * **Job Type:** Full-time (with potential for permanent position). * **Location:** Terra Business Park, La Pradera, El Marqués, Querétaro. * **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. * **Salary:** To be determined based on experience and portfolio. **If you enjoy combining engineering, design, and manufacturing; if you're passionate about creating from scratch and leaving your mark on the technical development of luxury automotive products, we're looking for you.
