The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise\-scale database environments while supporting the EMEA time zone. This role requires deep technical expertise in SAP HANA, strong database architecture knowledge, and hands\-on experience across cloud and Linux\-based environments. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Design, implement, and manage SAP HANA database architectures for high availability, performance, and scalability * Administer and support SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server platforms in complex enterprise landscapes * Develop and manage database backup, restore, and recovery strategies * Provide technical leadership for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions * Perform and support system copies, refreshes, and migrations * Ensure database security, compliance, and access control best practices * Support and improve automation processes using scripting or automation tools * Troubleshoot complex database performance and stability issues * Maintain structured technical documentation for daily operations and architecture changes * Participate in on\-call and weekend support on a rotational basis * Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams across regions **Required Skills Experience** ------------------------------ * 5\+ years of hands\-on experience as a Database Administrator / Architect * Strong expertise in SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) * Solid conceptual and practical understanding of RDBMS technologies **Proven experience in:** * Database backup recovery * Security concepts and strategies * System copies and landscape management * High availability and disaster recovery planning * Strong Linux administration experience (mandatory) * Hands\-on experience with public cloud platforms, including: * Microsoft Azure * AWS * Google Cloud Platform (GCP) * Exposure to automation tools, scripting, or process optimization * Ability to work independently in a remote, global delivery model **Good to Have** ---------------- * Experience with additional databases such as ASE, DB2, MaxDB, or similar * Professional certifications related to database platforms or cloud technologies * Prior experience supporting large\-scale SAP landscapes **Soft Skills** --------------- * Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities * Excellent documentation and communication skills * Ability to manage priorities in a fast\-paced, enterprise environment * Willingness to support on\-call rotations and critical system activities
