Summary: Seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee production floor quality, lead a local quality team, manage customer reports, drive quality improvements, and execute quality systems in a manufacturing environment. Highlights: 1. Lead and develop a local quality team of 10+ members 2. Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues 3. Ensure compliance with established quality procedures and standards Key Responsibilities 1\. Production Floor Quality Ownership * Take ownership of daily quality performance on assigned production lines (FPY, DPPM, customer\-reported defects) * Conduct structured daily floor walks using defined route maps and inspection checklists * Respond immediately to production line emergencies; make stop\-line decisions in coordination with production and the Quality Manager * Conduct first\-line investigation on common SMT/DIP defects (tombstoning, cold solder, shorts, BGA voids) and escalate complex issues with proper data 2\. Local Quality Team Leadership * Lead and develop the local quality team of 10\+ members: assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, deliver skills training * Identify and elevate strong team members; coach underperformers through structured root\-cause approach (training gap vs. tools gap vs. discipline issue) * Build a culture of accountability and structured execution on the production floor * Coordinate cross\-functionally with production, engineering, and process teams to resolve daily quality issues 3\. Customer Build Reports \& Technical Communication * Own end\-to\-end preparation of customer build reports — submitted to Quality Manager for final review * Adapt to varying customer templates and technical specifications; learn new requirements quickly for each new project * Support customer audits and on\-site visits: prepare documentation, coordinate logistics, drive corrective actions to closure 4\. Quality Improvement \& Non\-Conformance Handling * Lead 8D report writing in English for customer complaints and major internal NCRs * Apply QC tools (5\-why, fishbone, SPC, basic FMEA) to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions * Identify chronic quality issues proactively (e.g., elevated DPPM trends) and initiate improvement projects before they escalate to customer complaints * Coordinate non\-conforming product disposition with the Quality Manager and customs team 5\. Quality System Execution * Execute and maintain ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 procedures under the direction of the Quality Manager * Update Control Plans, work instructions, and visual aids based on field findings and improvement results * Ensure local team compliance with established procedures and inspection standards (IPC\-A\-610 Class 2/3\) QualificationsRequired Education * Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field * Equivalent technical experience considered (TSU \+ 5 years of relevant experience acceptable) Language Skills * **English:** Professional working proficiency — required for direct communication with North American customers and the Quality Manager; ability to write technical reports, 8D documents, and lead customer technical meetings Work Experience * 3–5 years of quality experience in PCBA or electronic manufacturing * Hands\-on SMT process quality experience (mandatory) — direct exposure to reflow, solder paste inspection, AOI, and common defect troubleshooting * Some leadership experience: formal team lead role OR demonstrated informal leadership (mentoring junior staff, leading projects, training others) * Experience writing technical reports in English for customer submission Technical Skills * Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (does not need to be the primary architect, but should understand the framework and execution requirements) * Proficient in IPC\-A\-610 (Class 2 minimum, Class 3 preferred) * Proficient in 7 QC tools, 8D methodology, basic FMEA, CPK * Strong Excel and data analysis skills; familiarity with MES systems Soft Skills * **Floor presence —** comfortable spending significant time on the production line, not behind a desk * **Resilience —** able to handle peak periods of intense activity (build phases, customer audits) with extended hours when required * **Learning mindset —** open to mentorship from a senior Quality Manager; comfortable asking questions and applying feedback * **Cross\-cultural collaboration —** able to work effectively with Chinese management style while bridging communication with the local Mexican team * **Structured execution —** preference for defined processes, checklists, and documented results over ad\-hoc problem solving Job Type: Full\-time Pay: $25,000\.00 \- $35,000\.00 per hour Language: * English (Required) Work Location: In person
