1\. Knowledge of fundamental hydraulics principles
* Understanding of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics principles.
* Knowledge of the physical properties of water and its behavior under varying conditions.
* Familiarity with equations and laws governing fluid flow, such as Bernoulli’s equation and Manning’s equation.
2\. Knowledge of hydraulic system design and analysis
* Understanding of pressure, flow rate, and head loss concepts in pipes and channels.
* Knowledge of different flow types (laminar and turbulent) and their characteristics.
* Ability to design and analyze water supply, sewerage, and drainage systems.
3\. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical problems
* Capacity to analyze and solve complex hydraulic problems in civil engineering projects.
* Skill in designing and evaluating hydraulic structures such as dams, channels, sewers, and drainage systems.
* Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations for hydraulics and hydromechanics in civil engineering projects.
With these skills and knowledge, you will provide your students with a solid understanding of hydraulics and hydromechanics, and prepare them to design and analyze hydraulic systems in civil engineering projects.
