**Subject Instructor \| Process Automation** **About the Role** In this role, you will develop students’ competencies to design, program, integrate, and optimize automation systems applied to discrete and continuous industrial processes, using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), advanced industrial instrumentation, and supervisory systems—based on safety, energy efficiency, and international regulatory standards. **Your Key Challenges:** * Select, calibrate, and integrate industrial sensors and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric), interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams (P\&ID) and understanding the dynamics of the process to be automated. * Master standardized programming languages for controlling logical sequences and complex industrial processes. * Incorporate functional safety criteria and emergency stop systems into automation design, complying with international protection standards for personnel and infrastructure. * Define learning objectives, content, teaching methodologies, and assessment criteria. * Organize educational resources and timelines. **Profile We Are Seeking:** **Essential Requirements:** * Education: Bachelor’s degree / engineering degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or related field, along with corresponding professional license. * Experience: 2–3 years of combined teaching and professional experience in the field. **Desirable Qualifications:** * A master’s degree in a related field is desirable. * Familiarity with platforms such as Teams, Blackboard, or similar. * Key competencies: digital and technological proficiency; ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and conflict management skills; capacity to design classes that foster critical thinking, creativity, and active participation. **Your Impact at UVM** At the Universidad del Valle de México, we educate well-rounded individuals for fulfilling lives and a better world.
