Optimization Engineer

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Optimization Engineer from the retail furniture manufacturing industry to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing production processes to ensure efficient use of materials and resources. Key Responsibilities * Analyze and quantify materials required for production orders. * Prepare material cut lists (Bills of Materials, BOM) for production orders. * Calculate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and register materials per production order. * Develop cut list templates and review materials with the MRP and warehouse departments. * Manage safety stock of common materials per project and collaborate with department heads to standardize cut lists. * Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Processes and Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture. * Experience in retail furniture manufacturing companies (preferred). * Knowledge of materials (metal profiles, carbon steel and stainless steel sheets, wood, MDF, laminates, lacquers, varnishes, acrylics). * Proficiency in SAP. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SAP B1. * Familiarity with material optimization software (e.g., Cutting Optimization or similar) (preferred). Desired Skills and Knowledge * Analysis and planning of material requirements (MRP). * Bill of Materials (BOM) explosion. * Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. * Analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
