**Acquirer Chargeback Specialist**
**Purpose:**
Contribute to the overall success of the Acquirer Disputes team at the Mexico HUB by ensuring that specific individual objectives, plans, and initiatives are executed and/or fulfilled in support of the team’s business strategies and goals. Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with current internal standards, policies, and procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
✓ Analyze and handle chargebacks/compliance/pre-compliance/arbitrations and copy/good-faith requests received via VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMEX from other issuing banks, verifying that documentation provided by issuing banks contains the necessary data for chargeback management, adhering to SLAs established by the card brands, as well as performing proper management and communication with affiliated merchants to request documents and/or apply account debits. Delivering high-quality service in chargeback handling and promissory note requests, seeking to benefit affiliated merchants. Ensuring no duplication or prior credit/refund exists—either in chargebacks or copy requests—and respecting deadlines established for each chargeback or dispute code, providing first-level responses where applicable.
✓ Request required documentation from merchants to resolve chargebacks and requests, based on the codes under which they were submitted through the INCOMING process—which is sent daily—and likewise verify accounting reconciliation.
✓ Perform applicable representation processes based on the analysis conducted, ensuring recovery of funds; where necessary, conduct a second analysis and gather additional information for arbitration and pre\-arbitration chargebacks per brand requirements, and obtain the process manager’s approval before applying such second chargeback or pre-arbitration.
✓ Submit weekly reports on chargebacks sent for merchant debit.
✓ Actively participate in identifying potential issues that help the institution minimize risk, and notify the manager of cases detected during the chargeback process.
✓ Consistently participate in training sessions and coaching provided within the area.
✓ Provide high-quality information for tracking and generating operational, regulatory, and other reports.
✓ Serve as backup for other staff members as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
**Experience**
* Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in economics, administration, or related field (completed or candidate)
* Experience:
* Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in a role similar to this position
* In-depth knowledge of VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS dispute rules.
* Familiarity with domestic interchange agreements.
