The primary responsibility of the successful candidate for the Representative – Commercial Accounts position will be to generate sales on behalf of Air Canada by establishing relationships with the industry and maintaining and expanding existing ones. The candidate will also be responsible for acquiring new sources and building new relationships within their assigned territory.
They must organize commercial activities with the market to enhance Air Canada’s visibility. In addition, they must work closely with travel agencies and corporate accounts.
**Responsibilities:**
* Prepare sales calls and weekly reports, ensuring accounts under their responsibility are managed according to the required service level. Ensure travel agents receive Air Canada’s promotional and tactical sales materials via email or in person.
* Regularly monitor revenue performance (direct and indirect) of accounts and develop sales strategies to ensure projected growth targets are met.
* Develop individualized sales plans aligned with clients’ activities and potential, measured by revenue quality and market share performance.
* Identify business and leisure travel opportunities based on accurate commercial intelligence data.
* Maintain a high level of knowledge of Air Canada’s products and continuously update it as needed.
* Accurately and promptly report industry trends, developments, competitor activities, and other factors that may impact Air Canada to the National Sales Manager.
* Prepare detailed weekly reports describing activities, accomplishments, market research, and plans for the following week.
* Attend sales team meetings and industry conferences as required.
* Resolve customer conflicts and complaints constructively and professionally.
* Maintain up-to-date sales and customer databases.
* Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
**Qualifications:**
* Sales experience in the airline or travel industry is a strong asset.
* Demonstrated experience in commercial planning or value-based sales strategies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision.
* Sound judgment, discretion, and decision-making ability.
* Advanced computer skills, including practical knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI.
* Frequent travel required.
* The successful candidate may be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, travel domestically and internationally, and perform under pressure in a highly competitive environment.
**Terms of Employment:**
Candidates must be eligible to work in the relevant country at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.
**Language Requirements:**
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
