Despite decades of product design, market presence, and market dominance by incumbents, we believe the ideal financial services platform, one that is accessible, instantaneous, friendly, and transparent – hasn’t been built yet. Not only have the most dynamic SME owners and entrepreneurs been completely left out of this digital revolution in payments and access to growth capital, but the limited access that a small number of them may have, doesn’t fit their needs. It doesn’t have to be this way, and it is our mission to deliver the solution. Plurall is the first AI\-driven Fin\-App for the 6\.5mm\+ entrepreneurs in Colombia who have been left out of traditional banking and the FinTech revolution. With investors and partners that include $4\.0BB AUM Fasanara, Visa, and Dale, the FinTech arm of the largest banking group in Colombia, Plurall delivers mission\-critical access to working capital and mobile banking, directly and through Embedded Finance partnerships – first in Colombia and then across LatAm. Plurall is based in Bogota, Colombia \- founded by *a diverse team of professionals* – with deep experience building and scaling successful FinTechs in the U.S. and LatAm \- and we are building a team of exceptionally talented people to join us on our mission. www.plurall.com **Lead Risk Data Scientist** Plurall is seeking a technical and strategic **Lead Risk Data Scientist** to join our growing team. This is a senior\-level position (Level 4\), acting as the architect of our credit decisioning logic. This is a unique opportunity for a "hands\-on" leader who wants to manage a team while remaining autonomous in Python and Software Engineering disciplines. You will be the front\-line defense and the engine builder, ensuring our proprietary risk software scales as we grow. **What you will do:** * **Own the Risk Engine Engineering:** You will maintain and enhance our proprietary risk software. You will not just define the models; you will write production\-ready Python code to implement them, ensuring the risk engine is robust, scalable, and you are autonomous in deploying changes. * **Proactive Policy Management:** Monitor and action risk policies and decisions proactively. You will lead the detection of potential risk trends and implement immediate countermeasures to protect the portfolio. * **Advanced Simulation \& Modeling:** Continuously simulate new risk policies, credit scorecards, and changes to existing logic. You will run rigorous backtesting to ensure new strategies will perform effectively in the Colombian market before deployment. * **Data Strategy \& Enrichment:** Continuously vet and integrate new and existing data sources (traditional and alternative) to enrich risk and fraud modeling. You will constantly hunt for predictive signals that others miss. * **Strategic Liaison:** Act as the primary technical front of the relationship with external advisors, data vendors, and partners. You will translate complex technical constraints into business value for stakeholders. * **Team Leadership:** Manage and mentor junior analysts from day one. You will review their code, guide their analysis, and eventually build out a larger high\-performing risk data team. * **Cross\-Functional Collaboration:** Collaborate closely with Tech and Product teams to ensure risk management strategies are seamlessly integrated into the user journey without adding unnecessary friction. **What will you bring:** * **Senior Risk Experience:** At least **5 years of hands\-on experience** in Consumer or SME Risk (Modeling \+ Monitoring). You don't just design the strategy; you build the tool that executes it. * **You are Fast\-Paced:** You are accustomed to dynamic environments and capable of handling multiple priorities without losing focus on accuracy. * **You are Result\-Oriented:** You are driven by the impact of your work on the company's bottom line, continuously focusing on optimizing risk prevention strategies to achieve tangible results. * **You Value Integrity:** You are a strong advocate for integrity and ethics, maintaining high professional standards when handling sensitive financial data. * **You are a Creative Problem Solver:** You have the ability to anticipate changes in risk behavior and develop proactive solutions rather than just reacting to fraud after it happens.
