We are looking for a **Senior Data Engineer** with expert-level proficiency in **BigQuery** and building robust, high-performance ETL/ELT solutions on **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**. You will play a key role in optimizing the data infrastructure and implementing best engineering practices. Your primary mission will be to lead the development of scalable *data pipelines* and ensure the efficiency and lowest possible operating cost of our Data Warehouse on BigQuery. **Key Responsibilities** * **Technical Leadership and Architecture:** Lead data solution design on GCP. Make architectural decisions regarding schema modeling and optimization in BigQuery. * **Expert BigQuery Optimization:** Be the go-to expert for cost and performance optimization in **BigQuery**. Mastery of advanced SQL, *clustering*, partitioning, and monetization techniques (use of *slots*). * **Pipeline Development (ETL/ELT):** Design, build, and monitor complex, high-volume data *pipelines* using GCP tools such as **Cloud Dataflow (Apache Beam)** or **Cloud Composer (Airflow)**. * **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Use **Terraform** to manage and deploy data infrastructure in an automated and reproducible way. * **Governance and Quality:** Implement frameworks for data quality, integrity, and *data lineage* across the platform. **Essential Requirements** * **Professional Experience:** More than **5 years** as a Data Engineer, with at least **4 years** of hands-on, proven experience in **GCP** and **BigQuery**. * **Expert Knowledge of GCP Data Stack:** * **Data Warehousing:** **BigQuery** (Expert level). * **Processing/ETL:** **Cloud Dataflow (Apache Beam)** or **Dataproc** (Expert). * **Orchestration:** **Cloud Composer (Airflow)**. * **Storage:** Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL. * **Programming and SQL:** Advanced **Python** skills (including data manipulation libraries and GCP APIs) and expert-level **SQL** for optimization. * **Modeling:** Advanced experience in data modeling for Data Warehouses (Kimball, Inmon).
