Define best practices for software architecture, performance, and scalability Java Architect **Location:** Guadalajara (GDL) or Mexico City (CDMX) – Hybrid **Job Type:** Full\-time Job Overview We are looking for a highly experienced **Java Architect** to lead the design and development of large\-scale distributed systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and data specialists to build secure, scalable, and high\-performance platforms. The ideal candidate is a **hands\-on technical leader** with strong experience in Java\-based architectures, microservices, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms. Key Responsibilities * Design and architect **secure, scalable, and highly available distributed systems** * Lead the development of **microservices\-based platforms and RESTful APIs** * Design and optimize **data architectures and data pipelines** * Build and maintain **high\-volume data ingestion and streaming solutions** * Collaborate with **engineering teams, product managers, and data scientists** * Define best practices for **software architecture, performance, and scalability** * Support the implementation of **DevOps and CI/CD practices** * Guide engineering teams on architecture decisions and technical solutions Required Qualifications * **10\+ years of experience** building large\-scale distributed systems * Strong expertise in **Java** and at least one additional programming language (Scala, Python, or JavaScript) * Proven experience designing **microservices architectures** * Hands\-on experience with **stream processing systems** such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, or Storm * Experience with **containerization technologies** such as Docker and Kubernetes * Strong experience with **SQL and NoSQL databases** * Experience working with **cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)** * Solid experience with **Linux/Unix environments** * Familiarity with **CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices** * Strong problem\-solving and communication skills Nice to Have * Experience with **big data platforms** such as Spark or Hadoop * Knowledge of **caching technologies** like Redis, Memcached, or Hazelcast * Familiarity with **AI developer tools** such as GitHub Copilot * Basic knowledge of **LLM technologies or AI frameworks** Job Types: Full\-time, Permanent Pay: $80,000\.00 \- $150,000\.00 per month Application Question(s): * Can you describe a large\-scale distributed system you helped design or architect using Java?
