We are looking for a Mi Familia Program Educator to transform lives alongside MAYAMA!
We are a nonprofit civil society organization with an innovative educational model that, through our Learning Center and community-based work, transforms the lives of girls, boys, and their families facing high levels of marginalization and violence. Our purpose is to ensure full access to children’s human rights and improve their quality of life.
What will you do as a Mi Familia Program Educator?
Facilitate the development of emotional, social, communication, and parenting skills among families served by Mayama. This is achieved through educational sessions tailored to each family’s unique needs, promoting their well-being and strengthening their capabilities.
Desired Profile:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy, Social Work, Sociology, Educational Psychology, Education Sciences, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 6 months to 1 year of family support experience.
Sensitivity and empathy when working with families in contexts of social disadvantage.
Observant, flexible, and capable of adapting sessions according to each family’s specific needs.
Main Responsibilities:
Design and facilitate educational sessions: Prepare and deliver sessions that strengthen parenting skills and promote family well-being.
Assess family progress: Apply diagnostic and follow-up tools to evaluate the progress of families served.
Develop educational materials: Create educational resources adapted to each family’s characteristics.
Fieldwork: Conduct home visits and community activities in Tlaquepaque (95% of fieldwork).
Support institutional activities.
Recordkeeping and reporting: Maintain up-to-date family information in the organization’s information system.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and the internet.
Warm interpersonal approach / Service-oriented attitude
Proactivity
Teamwork and group facilitation
Communication skills
Family analysis tools (e.g., genograms).
Position Details
Schedule: Tuesdays to Thursdays and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (100% in-person); Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including one hour for meals.
Days off: Sundays and Mondays
Location: Los Puestos neighborhood, Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.
We Offer:
Grocery vouchers: 3%
Employment type: Initial 3-month contract, with possibility of permanent placement.
Salary: $11,745.60 monthly gross, plus statutory benefits.
Vacation: 20 days per year (starting from the first year) + paid personal days
