




Position Summary: We are seeking an L2 Application Support Engineer with experience in Visual Basic to analyze, diagnose, and resolve incidents and defects, and maintain code in legacy applications. Collaboration with functional and development teams Capital Empresarial Horizonte, a Mexican company specializing in Human Resources and Information Technologies, is seeking: L2 Application Support Engineer – Visual Basic **Conversational English required** **Hybrid work arrangement** **Work location: CDMX, Guadalajara, Monterrey, or Querétaro** Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field** (or equivalent experience). * **3–6 years of experience** in application support or development using Visual Basic technologies. * Prior experience in **AMS, production support, or L2 support** is highly desirable. * Solid experience with **Visual Basic technologies**: * VB6 and/or VB.NET * VBA (Excel, Access, or other Microsoft Office integrations) * Experience with **SQL and relational databases** (SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access). * Strong knowledge of **application support in production environments**. * Skills in **code debugging, analysis, and performance issue resolution**. * Experience working with **legacy applications** and understanding technical debt. * Familiarity with **ITSM tools** (ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticket management systems). * Basic knowledge of **Windows services, scheduled tasks, and application logs**. ### **Main Responsibilities** * Provide **Level 2 support** for applications developed in Visual Basic (VB6, VBA, and VB.NET). * Analyze, diagnose, and resolve **application incidents and defects** escalated by the L1 support team. * Perform **root cause analysis (RCA)** for recurring or complex issues and propose permanent solutions. * Develop, modify, and maintain **Visual Basic code** to fix bugs and implement minor enhancements. * Support **application interfaces, batch processes, reports, and integrations** with databases and external systems. * Ensure compliance with **ITSM processes** (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management). * Prepare and maintain **technical documentation**, including support guides, known error logs, and resolution notes. * Collaborate with functional teams, business users, and development/L3 teams to ensure timely incident resolution. * Participate in **application maintenance, updates, and transition activities**. * Support **production releases**, including validation and post-deployment verification. * Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders in English, both written and verbal. ### **Desirable** * Experience in **migration or modernization projects** (e.g., from VB6 to .NET). * Experience supporting applications in **corporate, financial, or retail environments**. * Basic knowledge of **CI/CD or release management**. **We Offer:** * Office hours * 100% payroll-based employment * Salary open to negotiation based on experience * Statutory benefits * Enhanced benefits (family SGMM, SV 1 million, food vouchers, 30-day bonus, PTU)
