Position: **Data Scientist** Location: Mexico Work Model: Hybrid—offices in Azcapotzalco, CDMX or Monterrey, NL \- 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Fully remote if located outside these cities. Contract Type: Indefinite-term Schedule: Monday to Friday Language: Advanced conversational English required (C1, C2, or native level). Education: Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Experience: \+2 years **Purpose of the position** The candidate will be involved in the development of data science and advanced analytics applications from proposal through commercialization and be expected to work closely with operations and business organizations. As a result, he/she will need to develop credible business cases for new applications, actively participate in technical development, and lead multi\-disciplinary project execution teams. **Principal responsibilities** * Participate in the technology development process—from understanding business requirements and data discovery/extraction to model development, prototyping, evaluation, and deployment * Actively participate in technical development * Lead project execution involving multidisciplinary teams * Stay abreast of new technological developments in the field of expertise and actively contribute ideas for new programs * Effectively communicate analysis, findings, and results to stakeholders * Support new programs while maintaining and improving existing solutions **Required critical behaviours** This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of technical experts to solve a variety of complex problems in a fun and dynamic environment. The Data Scientist will be a member of the Digital Americas organization. Digital Americas is a multidisciplinary technical team comprised of data scientists, software engineers, and operations research experts. The team serves Linde business units and is tasked with creating analytics and decision support systems that deliver solutions for challenging problems across operations, supply chain, and business processes. The candidate will be involved in the development of analytics applications from proposal through commercialization and be expected to work closely with Operations and Business Organizations. As a result, he/she will need to develop credible business cases for new applications, actively participate in technical development, and lead multidisciplinary project execution teams. **Required key skills** **MANDATORY** * Participation in the technology development process—from understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, to model development, prototyping, evaluation, and deployment * Active participation in technical development * Leadership of project execution involving multidisciplinary teams * Staying current with new technological developments in the field of expertise and actively contributing ideas for new programs * Effective communication of analysis, findings, and results to stakeholders * Supporting new programs while maintaining and improving existing solutions * Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent degree specializing in Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline—or relevant practical experience * 2\+ years of experience building and delivering analytics solutions (e.g., simulation, optimization, ML, statistical models) to real production systems, and deep understanding of the data science lifecycle process * Solid knowledge of Python and SQL for data manipulation and deriving insights from large datasets * Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to concisely convey complex solutions to business stakeholders and executive leadership * Conversant in English * Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international) **PREFERRED** * Master’s or PhD degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent degree specializing in Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline—or relevant practical experience * Experience with C\#, Java, or C\+\+ * Experience with modeling platforms * Experience with Tableau or other BI tools * Experience with Azure/AWS or other cloud computing platforms **We offer:** \- Competitive salary based on experience \- Benefits exceeding statutory requirements (e.g., savings fund, credit union, SGMM, food vouchers, etc.) \- Opportunities for professional growth. \- Direct contract with our client.
