Job Description: Data Manager **Location:** Mérida, Yucatán **Work Mode:** 100% in-person **Language Requirement:** Advanced English mandatory Position Objective Ensure the effective execution of the organization’s data operations by leading the integration, infrastructure development, and migration of data platforms to the cloud. The Data Manager will be responsible for turning already-defined plans and guidelines into tangible outcomes, actively participating in technical operations and team coordination. Key Responsibilities & Requirements Execute and operate the existing data strategy, ensuring its proper implementation. Lead data integration across multiple sources and systems. Design, implement, and maintain data infrastructure (Data Lake, pipelines, data services). Execute data and service migration processes to the cloud (AWS). Ensure data availability, quality, security, and performance. Define technical requirements and necessary roles for executing data initiatives. Coordinate and develop a technical team of 5–8 direct reports, with an operational and hands-on focus. Set priorities, work plans, deliverables, and progress metrics. Collaborate with leaders and executives, communicating technical progress clearly and in a structured manner. Ensure compliance with standards, processes, and best practices typical of corporate and regulated environments. Essential Requirements 8 years of experience in data-related roles, data platforms, or data engineering. 3–5 years leading technical data or engineering teams (not merely administrative supervision). Proven hands-on experience executing data projects. **AWS expertise (mandatory), including services such as:** S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Lambda (or equivalents). Experience designing and operating Data Lakes and data pipelines (ETL / ELT). Solid knowledge of data integration, API consumption, and process orchestration. Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases. Experience migrating to the cloud from on-premise or hybrid environments. Knowledge of data security, data governance, and access control. Ability to document architectures, processes, and data flows. Advanced English (spoken and written).
