Job Summary: Design, supervise, install, and maintain HVAC systems to optimize operational performance, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality, reducing environmental impact and costs. Key Highlights: 1. HVAC System Optimization and Energy Efficiency 2. Compliance with Local and International Regulations 3. End-to-End HVAC Project Management Job Mission: Design, supervise, install, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, ensuring compliance with thermal comfort standards, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency requirements, thereby optimizing facility operations while reducing environmental impact and operational costs. Education: Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial, or Thermal Systems Engineering degree, or related field. Master’s in HVAC with Energy Efficiency / Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering / Master’s in Industrial Refrigeration and Cold Storage / Master’s in Renewable Energy or Energy Management. Key Responsibilities: Ensure installations comply with local regulations (e.g., NOM standards in Mexico) and international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA). Execute and document leak-tightness and pressure tests (pipes/ducts), verifying leak detection prior to wall or ceiling closure, and reporting any anomalies to the HVAC coordinator. Ensure personnel have calibrated and appropriate tools for specific tasks, such as vacuum pumps, pressure gauges, multimeters, anemometers, and PANDA devices. Monitor on-site HVAC system progress, identifying deviations from the schedule and quality plan, and providing corrective actions and reports as required. Perform, verify, and validate thermal load calculations (internal and external), air change rates (ACH), and air balance including infiltration, ensuring alignment with specifications provided by the coordinator per ASHRAE standards and project requirements. Confirm that psychrometric analyses are applied based on prior selection of coils (chilled/hot water, direct expansion), humidifiers, and dehumidifiers, ensuring required temperature and humidity conditions for each space. Conduct and report hydrostatic tests on chilled/hot water piping, verifying pressures per ASME B31.3 and documenting results. Technical Competencies: Thermal modeling software for energy consumption optimization and equipment sizing (thermal load calculation). Specialization in high-efficiency systems, eco-friendly refrigerants, and LEED certifications. Specialization in automatic control systems for HVAC operation optimization. Specialization in cooling processes, cold rooms, and precision refrigeration. ASME B31.3: Hydrostatic testing of piping.
