




***Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** 1\. Perform the following mechanical engineering functions: \- assembly design \- plastic and metal part design \- tolerance studies \- design for manufacturability/assembly \- component selection and specification \- thermal analysis and design \- vibration and mechanical shock analysis 2\. Qualify and oversee suppliers of components and custom parts. 3\. Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials. Provide accurate labor and material estimates. 4\. Review, support, approve, and provide recommendations to improve documentation, mechanical designs, and manufacturing process design. 5\. Write test plans, perform design testing, and review results. 6\. Read and create manufacturing drawings. 7\. Mentor MEs in training, designers, and associate MEs. 8\. Follow and apply SEL values, Operating Principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles. 9\. Understand. Create. Simplify. 10\. Other assigned duties. ***Required Qualifications*** BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field. More than 2 years of experience in three or more of the following areas: \- electromechanical packaging design \- heat transfer \- materials and processes \- mechanics \- computer-aided design \- electronic manufacturing techniques Strong problem-solving skills Solid project management experience Strong written, documentation, and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Satisfactory background check results for SEL. Negative drug test result(s). ***Preferred Qualifications*** More than 2 years of experience in SolidWorks with focus on sheet metal More than 2 years of experience in AutoCAD Experience in environmental testing Thermal modeling Finite element analysis Operation of measurement equipment ***Physical Requirements*** None
