Description
**Job Objective**
Implement the beverage recipes from the menu (cold and hot) at the counters of Nata Cafetería® cafés.
Properly operate bar equipment, such as coffee machines, blenders, and refrigerators.
Control supplies and costs to ensure quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with Bar Managers, Service Managers, and the Training Coordinator to guarantee an exceptional customer experience aligned with chain standards and the gastronomic environment.
Report to the Head of Innovation and Development regarding progress and identified needs within the area.
**Key Responsibilities**
Implement the beverage recipes designed in the recipe book.
Ensure consistency in flavor, temperature, texture, and presentation, aligned with the chain’s quality standards.
Incorporate local flavors to reinforce Veracruz identity.
Collaborate with Bar Managers to standardize beverage preparation across all branches.
Beverage preparation techniques for cold and hot drinks at a professional skill level (e.g., latte art, espresso extraction control, frothing techniques).
Efficient and safe use of bar equipment (coffee machines, steam wands, blenders).
**Bar Equipment Handling**
Supervise the use and maintenance of bar equipment, including:
Coffee machines: Daily cleaning, pressure calibration, grind adjustments.
Grinders: Cleaning and operation of coffee bean grinders.
Blenders and other equipment: Basic maintenance and cleaning to prevent cross-contamination.
Report equipment failures or maintenance needs to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor to ensure continuous equipment operation.
**Supply and Cost Control**
Manage bar supplies (coffee, milk, syrups, fruits, etc.), ensuring:
Efficient usage to minimize waste
Proper storage
Compliance with hygienic handling practices.
Collaborate with the Quality Control Technician to verify the quality of supplies received from vendors.
**Interdepartmental Collaboration**
Work closely with Bar Managers to implement recipes and standards across branches.
Collaborate with Service Managers to guarantee an integrated customer experience (fast service, attractive presentation).
Coordinate with the Training Coordinator to align training programs with bar requirements.
**Job Requirements**
Technical degree in Gastronomy, Barista Studies, or related field (certified, preferred). A completed high school diploma with relevant barista experience is also acceptable.
Training course in Beverage Preparation Techniques or Good Manufacturing Practices (preferred).
**Experience**
Minimum 6 months to 1 year as a barista or in similar roles in cafés, restaurants, or food-and-beverage businesses.
Experience preparing cold and hot beverages using professional techniques (e.g., latte art, espresso extraction).
Knowledge of bar equipment handling (coffee machines, blenders).
**Skills**
Technical beverage preparation skills (espresso, frappés, iced teas) at a professional level.
Experience in bar equipment handling and maintenance.
Ability to control supplies and analyze preparation costs.
Sensory skills for tasting evaluations (flavor, aroma).
Availability to travel between branches in Veracruz and Boca del Río.
Familiarity with the gastronomic environment.
**Working Conditions**
**Salary**: $9,450 to $11,000 MXN per month (estimated based on Indeed data for similar roles in Veracruz, such as "Barista", with ranges of ~$8,000–$12,000 MXN in 2026; includes tips).
