Job Description and Details **Position: Junior Chemist** **Location: Mexico\-Tijuana** **Supervisor: Senior R\&D Chemist** **Department: R\&D** **Markwins believes that quality must be present in everything we do, our product, our vision, our business, the lives of the people who work with us, and everyone we partner with.** **Job Description:** Responsible for following instructions to produce cosmetic formulations that meet specifications and regulatory requirements. Performs routine tests, pH analysis, viscosity measurement, and specific gravity. **Job Responsibilities:** * Supports chemists as needed in producing laboratory batches, color match benchmarks, adjusting production batches, etc. * Maintains accurate records of work on laboratory batches and formulas in the laboratory notebook * Follows procedures and instructions provided by the chemist to produce cosmetic formulations such as bases, lipsticks, mascaras, etc. * Produces larger-scale batches in the laboratory to validate them prior to production * Works on formulation and supervises pilot batches, making necessary adjustments * Performs routine laboratory tests including, but not limited to, pH analysis, viscosity measurement, specific gravity measurement, particle size analysis, and melting point determination * Determines fill weight based on approved component * Keeps the laboratory organized, cleans work area, equipment, and laboratory tools as needed * Performs various other job-related tasks as assigned * Complies with necessary safety measures to prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and environmental emergencies within the company * Adheres to Safety, Health, and Environmental controls established in the Company's Internal Regulations * The above-mentioned responsibilities may vary or expand according to instructions from company directors based on company needs.
