Job Description: We are seeking an Agronomist Engineer with extensive experience in pineapple cultivation to lead, supervise, and optimize the agricultural operations of our pineapple production. This person will be responsible for ensuring that all agronomic processes—from planting, management, protection, and nutrition to harvesting—are carried out with high standards of productivity, quality, and sustainability. 2. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate field activities related to pineapple cultivation (planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, etc.). * Develop and implement agronomic plans to maximize yield, minimize phytosanitary risks, and optimize resource use. * Diagnose, prevent, and manage pineapple-specific pests and diseases using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. * Design and execute plant nutrition programs (fertilizer application, fertilization) tailored to the needs of pineapple cultivation. * Coordinate with the post-harvest team to ensure optimal fruit quality at harvest. * Conduct periodic crop monitoring (health, growth, water stress, yield) and report key metrics. * Train field staff in good agricultural practices, including safety, occupational health, and proper input application procedures. * Collaborate with other departments (production, logistics, quality) to plan production cycles, estimate harvest volumes, and anticipate operational needs. * Evaluate new agricultural technologies and innovations (fertilizers, varieties, management techniques) and propose continuous improvements. * Prepare regular technical and agronomic reports for management and strategic decision-making. 3. Experience and Education * Professional degree in Agronomy Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field. * **Minimum 5 consecutive and recent years of experience specifically in pineapple cultivation**. (Important: Experience in crops other than pineapple will not be accepted.) * Demonstrable experience in tropical regions and in pineapple cultivation, ideally with knowledge of climate and soil conditions similar to those of Loma Bonita, Oaxaca. * Experience in full agronomic management of the crop: from planting, maintenance, nutrition, health, to harvesting. * Experience supervising field teams and coordinating agricultural operations. 4. Technical Knowledge * Proficiency in pineapple-specific cultivation techniques (propagation, plant density, fertilization, pruning, irrigation, etc.). * In-depth knowledge of pineapple pest and disease control, with practical experience in integrated management strategies. * Ability to design plant nutrition programs adapted to the needs of pineapple cultivation. * Familiarity with irrigation systems (regulation, scheduling) and efficient water use. * Knowledge of agricultural technologies (e.g., precision agriculture, agricultural management software, crop monitoring). * Understanding of environmental regulations applicable to cultivation (agrochemical use, waste management, sustainability). * Analytical skills to interpret agronomic data, yields, and monitoring results. 5. Soft Skills * Leadership and ability to lead field work teams. * Strong communication skills and ability to train agricultural workers. * Organization and planning skills to manage agricultural cycles (seasons, tasks, resources). * Proactivity in identifying problems and proposing solutions. * Results-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous improvement. * Time management and multitasking: ability to handle multiple agronomic activities simultaneously. 6.
