




Position Summary: The SMT Technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots surface mount technology equipment to ensure optimal machine performance and quality in PCB manufacturing. Collaborate in improving processes and efficiency of the electronics laboratory. We are seeking SMT Technicians to join our Electronics Manufacturing team, reporting directly to the SMT Coordinator. This job opportunity is located in Tepotzotlán, Mexico. The SMT Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting surface mount equipment used in electronic board (PCB) manufacturing. The role requires ensuring optimal machine operation, conducting quality inspections, and collaborating in the production process within the electronics laboratory. **Key Responsibilities:** * Configure and operate SMT equipment (e.g., component placement machines, solder paste printers, reflow ovens). * Perform preventive maintenance and correct minor machinery failures. * Inspect assembled PCBs to detect soldering defects or component placement errors. * Perform manual soldering tasks as required. * Record production and quality data. * Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety regulations. * Collaborate in process improvement and laboratory efficiency enhancement. **Requirements:** * Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. * Prior experience in SMT operations or electronics manufacturing. * Knowledge of IPC standards for PCB assembly and inspection. * Ability to interpret technical documentation and bill of materials (BOM). * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. **Additional Skills:** * Ability to read and interpret electronic assembly drawings and component lists (BOM). * Manual dexterity for handling small components and performing precise soldering. * Basic knowledge of SMT machinery repair and maintenance. * Proficiency with computerized interfaces for production control. * Communication and teamwork skills. * Time management and ability to work independently. **Position Expectations:** * Maintain high standards of quality and precision in PCB assembly and inspection. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization. * Comply with safety protocols and internal procedures. * Flexibility to adapt to scheduling changes and production planning adjustments. * Participate in training to stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
