Follow up with guests to ensure they are satisfied with the resolution of their issues. Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and delivering and activating room keys. Process all types of payments made, such as accommodation charges and payments made in cash, by check, or by debit or credit card. Open accurate accounts for each guest upon check-in (i.e., shared rooms, separate rooms, taxes, incidentals, compensations). Anticipate situations where room availability is exhausted and secure satisfactory alternative accommodations if the hotel cannot accommodate guests with reservations. Block rooms on the computer and identify specific requests and requirements. Contact the appropriate person or department (e.g., Bell Services, Housekeeping Department), as needed, to resolve guest calls, requests, or issues. Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department to follow up and ensure rooms are in perfect condition upon guest arrival. Review employee shift logs and daily memo books and document relevant information in the logs. Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Balance and submit receipts according to Accounting specifications. Assist management with employee training, motivation, and coaching, and serve as a role model and first point of contact for the "Fair Treatment Guarantee and Open Door Policy" process. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager; conduct safety trainings and obtain safety certifications. Comply with all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Anticipate guest service needs and address them. Communicate with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer phones using proper protocol. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate. Related work experience: At least 1 year of related work experience. Supervisory experience: Supervisory experience is not required.
