The Analytical Chemist is responsible for performing analytical processes in the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages. Their primary function is to guarantee reliable and timely results that support medical diagnosis, strictly adhering to current biosafety regulations and quality standards. **Main Responsibilities** * **Sample Processing:** Perform technical analysis of biological samples in the following areas: * **Clinical Chemistry:** Determination of metabolites, enzymes, and electrolytes. * **Hematology:** Complete blood counts, peripheral blood smears, and coagulation tests. * **Immunology:** Serological tests, hormone level assessments, and tumor markers. * **Urinalysis:** Physical, chemical, and microscopic examination of urine. * **Parasitology:** Identification of parasitic structures in various fluids and feces. * **Quality Control:** Execute and record daily internal and external quality controls to ensure equipment and reagent accuracy. * **Maintenance:** Perform basic preventive maintenance on automated analyzers and report technical failures. * **Validation:** Validate and release results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS), identify critical values, and immediately notify the physician or patient. * **Supply Management:** Monitor inventory of reagents and materials in their area to prevent stockouts.
