




Job Summary The Technical Design Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the technical design and product development team, ensuring optimization of pattern making, grading, and technical specifications processes for the production of sportswear. The role must ensure that products meet the brand's required standards for fit, performance, quality, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management: Lead, train, and evaluate the Technical Design and Pattern Making team. Establish efficient workflows between design, product development, and production. Technical Product Development: Oversee the creation and standardization of base patterns (blocks) and measurement charts, ensuring consistency in fit across all product categories. Manage the grading process, guaranteeing dimensional accuracy across all sizes. Review and approve technical specifications (Tech Packs) to ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and ready for mass production. Fit & Quality: Lead fit sessions on mannequins and live models, and coordinate the implementation of necessary corrections. Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to resolve fit and construction issues during pre-production and production phases. Research and apply the latest innovations in sportswear pattern making and textile construction techniques. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs in technical product development without compromising quality. Implement and maintain technical data management systems (PLM or similar). Cross-Departmental Communication: Act as a key liaison between Creative Design, Material Development, Production, and Procurement teams. Essential Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Technical Design, Pattern Making, or Product Development within the textile industry, specifically in sportswear (activewear, athleisure, uniforms). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Industrial Pattern Making, or related field. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in digital pattern making software (e.g., Optitex, Gerber, Lectra, or Audaces). In-depth experience in technical garment construction (flatlock seams, heat sealing, etc.) and knowledge of handling stretch and high-performance fabrics. Experience in developing size charts (sizing charts) and fit evaluation (fitting). Skills: Leadership and team management. Excellent communication skills in Spanish (English is a plus). Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Desirable Knowledge of international safety and quality regulations applicable to sportswear. Network of contacts with pattern making service providers or prototype workshops in Tultepec and surrounding areas.
