




**Project Description:** As a result of the Collaboration Agreement signed by the Government of Mexico and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the project "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Advancement and Sustainable Development Goals" has been designed, aiming to support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in strengthening its capabilities to position Mexico's interests on the international stage through multilateralism, as well as in fulfilling its responsibilities in economic matters. The United Nations 2030 Agenda provides a roadmap to address the most pressing global challenges facing humanity, which have significant national implications. Given the complexity and interdependence of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their 169 targets, implementing this Agenda represents a challenge, particularly given limited human and material resources. In this context, the United Nations Development Programme supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—the entity responsible for multilateral and regional follow-up of the 2030 Agenda—in strengthening institutional capacities for promoting the SDGs. Within a context of continuous strengthening of global multilateral policy, the activities planned for this vacancy will be carried out, contributing to enhancing the Ministry’s capabilities in monitoring national and international agreements, strengthening institutional partnerships, analyzing public policy related to quarterly, semi-annual, and annual programs and plans, and analyzing geopolitical and international political developments. **Scope of Work:** * Conduct economic analysis on issues related to the economic relationship in North America to generate informative documents supporting officials of the Ministry in meetings and work sessions. * Apply economic analysis methodologies to assess the economic and trade relations with the U.S. and Canada, aiming to produce informative documents that support the Ministry's actions. * Support economic negotiations through findings derived from economic analysis. * Contribute to defining positions in economic committees in which the Directorate participates, through economic analysis. * Monitor relevant economic indicators, as well as economic policies and regulations. **Institutional Agreement:** This vacancy will be under the direct supervision of the Unit Chief for North America and coordinated by the project "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Advancement and Sustainable Development Goals," who will evaluate the contractor's performance at the end of the contract. **Essential Competencies:** **Achieving Results:** Level 1: Plans and monitors own work, pays attention to detail, delivers quality work within established deadlines. **Thinking Innovatively:** Level 1: Open to creative ideas/known risks, solves problems pragmatically, implements improvements. **Continuous Learning:** Level 1: Has an open mind and curiosity, shares knowledge, learns from mistakes, seeks feedback. **Adapting with Agility:** Level 1: Adapts to change, constructively manages ambiguity/uncertainty, is flexible. **Acting with Determination:** Level 1: Shows determination and commitment, remains calm in adversity, confident. **Engaging and Partnering:** Level 1: Demonstrates compassion/understanding towards others, builds positive relationships. **Facilitating Diversity and Inclusion:** Level 1: Values/respects differences, recognizes unconscious biases, confronts discrimination. **Minimum Academic Requirements:** * Completed high school or bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, international relations, public policy, international business, or related fields. **Minimum Years of Experience:** For candidates with high school education: 6 years of experience; for candidates with a bachelor’s degree: 3 years of experience. Areas of experience: international economics, data visualization, statistical analysis, and related topics. **Required Skills:** * Data analysis software (R, Python, or Stata). * Information synthesis. * Effective communication of technical information to diverse audiences. * Team and time management. **Desired Skills:** * Knowledge in international economics, private sector development, foreign trade, graphic design, and/or diplomacy. * Knowledge and experience in research methods. * Experience in the Federal Public Administration or International Organizations.
