Architect/Civil Engineer

**Design Engineer - Roofing and Cladding** **Description** **This job is based in Ireland. It is fully sponsored with a relocation package.** **Fluent English speaking is required.** **The Role** As a design engineer, you will be instrumental in translating project requirements into buildable details and designs using advanced CAD/BIM workflows. You will collaborate across departments, working alongside project managers, site teams, and estimators, to ensure our designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with client and company standards. **Requirements** **Key Responsibilities** * Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models of roofing and cladding systems. * Produce technical drawings: plans, sections, elevations, detail sheets, scheduling tables, and fabrication-ready outputs. * Visualize design concepts and prepare customer-focused presentations/representations. * Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and topographical information to inform design. * Coordinate design activities with project managers, estimators, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure constructability. * Manage digital drawing files, maintain drawing records, issue logs, and revision control. * Perform technical checks for compliance with building codes, performance standards, and quality requirements. * Assist with value engineering and optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and material performance. * Support the development and implementation of BIM workflows and digital component libraries. * Participate in site visits and design review meetings as necessary. **Candidate Profile** * Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering, BIM, or related field. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in building envelope design, with at least 3 years focused on roofing and cladding (preferred). * Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM workflows and related software is desirable. * Strong technical and detail-oriented skills, with keen attention to accuracy and adherence to standards. * Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to clearly convey complex designs to clients and project teams. * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Self-motivated team player who takes initiative and performs well under pressure. * Full and clean driver's license: occasional site visits required. * Excellent written and spoken English.
