Summary: The Advanced Quality Engineer leads APQP efforts for new product development, working with customers and suppliers, and serving as a core team member of the Product Launch Team. Be the resident expert of launch, manufacturing, and documentation processes **Position Title: Adv. Quality Engineer** **Reports to: Adv. Quality Manager** **Location: Ramos Arizpe Coah.** **POSITION:** The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) will lead APQP efforts for new product development programs as assigned. This person will work closely with customer and supplier quality contacts to understand and meet requirements, as well as serve as core team member of Product Launch Team. The AQE must be the resident expert of the launch, manufacturing, reporting systems \& documentation processes of both Motus and its customers. The AQE will successfully lead the implementation of quality systems and work closely with design, quality and manufacturing engineering personnel during the development and introduction of new products and technologies. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Manage all customer specific Advanced Quality Planning requirements, utilizing all applicable customer and internal specific systems throughout launch * Work with Motus Launch team to ensure that all launch deliverables are completed on time and critical issues are identified and resolved timely * Leverage resources, best practices, and past experience to ensure that quality and business objectives are achieved in new product development * Lead all Motus Past Problem History Report (PPHR) activity * Apply hands\-on, new product launch activities at manufacturing and process locations * Coordinate PPAP or specific customer submission packages for approval * Lead APQP and PPAP activities for both internal and external suppliers – including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans \& Track Supplier PPAP readiness and approval of same * Perform Quality Systems \& Process Audits when required (i.e. Supplier PSO of Key/Critical Suppliers) * Lead suppliers in the resolution of any quality issues \& audit findings * Ensure Launch Manufacturing Processes are brought to process sign\-off readiness * Develop prototype, pre\-production \& Production Controls Plans * Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and plant resources to develop Process Flow and PFMEA * Develop Manufacturing Quality Systems for prototype \& pre\-production builds (e.g. Operator Description Sheets, Incoming Inspection Instructions, containment instructions, Production Set\-up Instructions) * Lead the “customer eyes” effort for pre\-production and initial start\-of\-production builds * Ensure dimensional analysis is completed on all components and assemblies * Work with Product Engineering for disposition of all components used in sub\- and final assemblies * Ensure capability studies are properly performed \& documented for new program significant and critical characteristics * Ensure all customer requirements are met (or a written Customer deviation is obtained) * Manage the color and appearance approval process * Manage gaging needs and fixture design, on\-time build and prove\-out (passing gauge repeatability and reproducibility standards) **REQUIREMENTS:** * Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education / work experience * Minimum 3\-5 years of related Quality Engineering experience in a Product Launch, Research \& Development and/or manufacturing environment * Must be an expert in automotive industry APQP tools (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, PSOs, etc) * Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance * Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instructions, inspection procedures, capital proposals) **KEY COMPETENCIES** **Intellectual Competencies:** * Intellectual – Ability to acquire understanding and absorb information rapidly.
