LM306: Sr Clearance Spec
"Involves a level of processing, coordination, and obtaining customs clearance approvals for import/export and transshipment of documents, packages, and cargo in baggage or air freight under the direction of the Station Operations Manager.
Higher levels of these positions may:
* Handle escalated or more complex issues,
* Coordinate team or agency-contracted personnel activities,
* Support supervisor or manager activities,
* Support the design, review, and implementation of processes and procedures."
**Job Summary:**
Under limited supervision, performs the following activities:
* Prepares required customs forms to ensure timely, efficient, and effective import, export, and transshipment procedures for shipments arriving or departing via air. E.g., general knowledge of air freight, cargo manifests and general declarations, invoices, and other related documentation.
* Prepares forms detailing customs duties, tariffs, taxes/VAT, and fees to enable timely cost recovery.
* Prepares international manifests to ensure responsive and efficient customs clearance.
* Ensures full station compliance with national customs and tax laws, aligned with FedEx policies, procedures, practices, and standards.
* Interacts with customs officials and coordinates customs-related activities with internal operations staff.
* Contacts customers to obtain additional information and inform them of applicable duties and taxes.
* Maintains all customs documentation well-organized and properly archived.
* Performs classification, airport and station baggage support, and retrieves air cargo from carriers as needed.
* Obtains copies of excess AWBs to ensure proper adjustment.
* May be required to perform other assigned tasks.
**Minimum Requirements:**
**Minimum Education Level:**
* Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
* Proficiency in English (TOEIC score of 600).
**Minimum Experience:**
* Four (4) years of experience with international air cargo/freight customs policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
* Demonstrated knowledge of required customs and airport clearance procedures.
* Valid driver’s license.
**Minimum Required Skills:**
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* General office skills
* Computer literacy
* CRT experience preferred
