




Job Summary: Coordinate and manage manufacturing engineering activities to support existing production, new product development, and continuous improvement. Key Highlights: 1. Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. **What you’ll do:** ------------------- **PRIMARY FUNCTION:** Coordinate and manage manufacturing engineering activities in production areas to support the existing production line, new product development and new production lines, product transfers, specifications and equipment maintenance, lean manufacturing, EQS implementation, MESH initiatives, and product cost and quality improvements. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** * Determine manufacturing methods and machine or line loading to produce parts, subassemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring comprehensive planning aligned with the division’s overall objectives. Plan all tooling, such as templates, fixtures, special tools, and similar items. * Evaluate existing machinery, manufacturing equipment, tooling, etc., to determine safety, capacity, capability, effectiveness, etc. Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and manage capital projects. * Describe required workflow and material handling devices, including storage areas, work areas, and workplace layout. Prepare complete operation lines to manufacture all parts for a product line or section. Provide training, guidance, and technical support to leaders, operators, and team members. * Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro launches by creating process maps, standard work, takt time, potential failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), design of experiments (DOE), control plans, and job safety analysis for production lines. * Estimate time required to manufacture all parts for a product line or section based on most economical methods developed through manufacturing planning, along with methods, tooling, labor, plant layout, and design engineering. Actively reduce current standard times. * Compile comprehensive cost analyses for a product line or section based on extent of hourly rates, burden and material costs, cost of new machine tools, and equipment handling. This includes specifications for items such as designs, tooling, machine tools, and materials. * Follow all cost reduction methods through successful installation and operation. * Recommend equipment and facility replacements and relocations for a given area and maintain corresponding records. **Qualifications:** ------------------- **SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electromechanical) required. * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering capability. * Desirable experience in steel manufacturing industry (cutting, bending, or welding). * Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor software. * Demonstrated proficiency with PCs and related software. * Training and experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools. * Bilingual (English/Spanish). * **Functional Competencies** * Manufacturing Process Design\- * “Zero Work-Related Accidents” Workplace Culture\- * Success Factors and Continuous Improvement of Manufacturing Value Stream\- * Development and Execution of Manufacturing Strategy * Integration of EBS Tools\- * Business Systems and Practices * Program Management \#LI\-DS2 **Additional Information:** --------------------------- **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:** * Effective communication and presentation skills, including English and Spanish communication * Fully bilingual (desired) * Knowledge of Oracle, MAPICS, Vista, Encore, SAP, and PBI reporting systems. * Ability to work in an international environment. * Assist with recommendation, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of department/plant objectives. * Support ongoing EBE initiatives by demonstrating individual accountability. * Continuous process improvement and teamwork. **ISO 14001: 2015** ------------------- * Ensure applicable operational controls are implemented within your areas. * Follow up on staff questions regarding the Environmental Management System (EMS). * Support compliance with and monitoring of the Environmental Policy. * Contribute to achieving Environmental Objectives and Targets. * Support maintaining the EMS for environmental protection. * Carry out activities established in EMS Methods and Procedures. * Understand impacts of Environmental Aspects. * Implement established Operational Controls.
