We achieve this stature because Bourns employees excel in the development of new products and continuous improvement processes that keep the company a global leader in delivering outstanding service. **Job Description:** **I.** **POSITION DESCRIPTION:** ================================== Performs all necessary tasks for equipment maintenance, programming, and repair, and may develop initial design concepts or sketches of electronic systems for new equipment. Responsible for developing electronic concepts for both mechanized and automated equipment, as well as PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs and electrical test programs; provides electronic support and training to personnel. May supervise one or more technicians and/or engineers on a project basis. **II.** **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:** ======================================== * Develop initial concepts (sketches) for all electronic systems related to new equipment. * Responsible for developing concepts to mechanize and/or automate electrical test equipment. * Develop and implement programs for electrical test equipment. * Support the development and implementation of semi-automated and automated assembly equipment. * Initiate modifications or improvements to existing electronic equipment, accompanied by appropriate designs or redesign information. * Implement Poka-Yoke systems, vision systems, scanners, etc., into electrical test and assembly equipment. * Diagnose equipment failures or defects. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and reconstruction as required. * Implement equipment design changes to improve performance, efficiency, and cost reduction. * Review and evaluate new/existing equipment to develop training plans for new personnel as well as retraining plans for existing personnel. * Coordinate technical personnel training on programming of electrical test equipment. * Prepare required drawings and schematics of equipment using appropriate tools and electrical standards. * Procure materials, components, or units required for electronic equipment by initiating purchase requisitions and following up to ensure timely delivery. * Perform all assigned tasks. * Apply Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles daily.
