




Job Description and Activity Details **POSITION OBJECTIVE:** Responsible for investigating, planning, and managing electromechanical systems and products through the following functions. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Designs products or systems incorporating fundamental principles of mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or heat transfer sciences. * Designs plastic components for injection molding, extrusion, and vacuum forming processes; evaluates and selects appropriate plastic materials. * Designs and implements test protocols with both internal personnel and third parties. Also responsible for analyzing data/results and integrating them into design and development activities. * Leads and coordinates all implementation activities to ensure products and systems meet engineering design and project specifications. * Evaluates field and warranty-related issues and recommends design modifications to eliminate weaknesses in products and processes. * Manages diverse and concurrent projects from conceptualization through factory introduction, with responsibilities ranging from design concept to final product, cost/budget control, timeliness, and safety. * Performs all tasks within the framework of ISO and Stage Gate processes. * Manages internal and external resources. * Provides Inter-Plant support for our sites in Tijuana. **This is not an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities. May perform other duties as assigned according to business needs.** Experience and Requirements **MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS** **EDUCATION** Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field. Master's degree desirable. **EXPERIENCE** Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering projects. **KNOWLEDGE** Advanced knowledge of solid modeling, FEA, MS Office, and project management. CAD **CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES** PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (Desirable) **WORK COMPETENCIES** Communication, Customer Focus, Initiative, Innovation, Organization, Results Orientation, Adaptability, Flexibility. **LANGUAGE SKILLS** Advanced English (Reading and writing to deliver fluent project presentations and/or participate in negotiation processes) **PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT** The employee must remain seated to work with computer equipment. Occasionally required to walk and use hands to handle or manipulate objects. Vision level must be optimal. Occasionally exposed to fumes, vapors, gases, or airborne particles (with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), noise levels are moderate and within permitted limits.
