Job Description and Responsibilities * Studies product, die, and mold drawings and calculates specifications. * Plans the sequence of operations, visualizing the shape of the die or mold on the reverse side of the product. * Measures, marks, and lays out metal material for machining preparation. * Provides machining specifications to mold and tool setup personnel, or sets up and operates machines such as horizontal lathes, engine lathes, profile milling machines, and pantographs to machine external dimensions and contoured cavities of dies or molds. * Polishes, files, and sands parts to achieve proper fit during assembly and to smooth and finish cavities. * Assembles dies or molds. * Performs preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance. * Dimensional verification required. Proficiency in CNC/EDM is essential, along with programming capability in MasterCAM, CAD/CAM, or other CNC software. * Sets up and operates milling machines, drilling machines, lathes, and other metalworking tools to manufacture and repair molds and equipment. * Lubricates and cleans tools, molds, and components. * Repairs or replaces defective mold components. * Installs specialized functional or structural components into molds when necessary. * Analyzes operating metal tools/molds and inspects finished products to identify root causes of issues. * Disassembles metal devices and tools to access and repair defective areas.
