Job description and activity details 1\. Manages procurement activities in support of S\&OP and plant operations for an assigned product or commodity. Direct/indirect, MRO, engineering samples, intercompany transfers, etc. Responsible for applying best practices in raw material procurement aligned with strategic initiatives and business goals. 2\. Manages inventory levels and ensures optimal alignment of Kanban and JIT (Just-in-Time) systems with defined KPIs. 3\. Procures materials and reports material status to the Production Planning team. Keeps management informed of potential material issues and exceptions that may cause delayed shipments. 4\. Minimizes material shortages resulting in backorders. Facilitates resolution of material constraints and supply interruptions, and expedites materials when required. Timely escalation to management when issues lead to production line stoppages, and leads resolution efforts. 5\. Maintains appropriate inventory levels consistent with budgetary guidelines. Develops and implements strategies to minimize SLOB (Slow-Moving or Obsolete) and excess inventory. 6\. Reviews and resolves issues with blocked/parked invoices that prevent payment completion. 7\. Interacts with external customers, business process integrators, business controllers, and related groups in transactions to execute assigned tasks and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Independently identifies and facilitates resolution of complex problems, and navigates critical issues with both internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. 8\. Develops and fosters strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and key suppliers, facilitating a shared understanding of transactional relationship aspects.
