This position provides an intermediate level of mold setup, detailed troubleshooting,
and problem resolution services. Develops solutions and alternatives to assigned
molding issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensures processes are valid for molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and robots.
* Ensures correct materials are used, safety checks are performed, and the shop area remains organized and clean.
* Identifies problems and finds solutions across the entire molding process to ensure maximum machine utilization, production, and quality.
* Performs safety inspections, mold cleaning, lubrication, and numerous other maintenance tasks.
* Reads technical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and ladder logic diagrams.
* Replaces inserts and cores as required.
* Recommends improvements to molds and machinery.
* Trains molding operators on safe machine and equipment operation.
* Ensures documentation is completed accurately.
* Stops production if there is a product issue, personnel safety concern, or potential damage to equipment, tools, or processes.
* Ensures compliance with safety and task management policies.
* Ensures the following:
* Engineering and maintenance procedures and standards are followed.
* Standardized operating procedures, Molding Process Sheets (MPS), General Procedures (GPS), and Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) are followed.

Experience and requirements
SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
* Four years of molding experience, including one year on molding machines and tool setup.
* Ability to understand root causes of process and material issues, and required corrective actions.
* Ability to learn and retain key information about molded parts within the department.
* Attention to detail.
* Good manual dexterity and ability to perform manual tasks requiring fine motor skills.
* Interpersonal and demonstrable effective communication skills.
* Demonstrated computer proficiency, preferably in spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs.
